El Museo de antiguedades de Jaffa se encuentra en un edificio que es una pequeña joya del la época del imperio otomano. Cuando fuimos se encontraba cerrado porque estaban montando nueva exposición y muchas piezas las tenían guardadas. Gracias a mi amigo Doron Pollack pudimos entrar a verlo. Su directora, una mujer cercana y encantadora me llevó directamente hacia estas tres maravillas, unas delicadas vasijas de cristal de la época del imperio Romano-Bizantino. Los que habían perdido a un ser querido guardaban en ellas las lagrimas de su dolor para después, selladas con cera, dejarlas en la tumba de su familiar o amigo.
The Jaffa Antique Museum is housed in a building that is a little gem of the era of the Ottoman Empire. When we went it was closed because they were mounting a new exhibition and many pieces were kept. Thanks to my friend Doron Pollack we were able to visit it. His director, a charming woman led me directly to these wonders, a delicate group of crystal vessels from the Roman-Byzantine empire. Those who had lost a relative or a friend, kept in them the tears of their pain for later, sealed with wax, to leave them in the tomb of his familiar or friend.
